Global filmmaker with initiative and experience in filmmaking, communication, and project management.
Interested in filmmaking and education. Accustomed to working in tough environments such as
developing areas and refugee camps. Eager to work, support people and bring value to the community.

I come from a place where we have to strive to achieve a dignified life, and that has taught me to fight and never give up. I have been involved in the filmmaking field for a while, and most of the work we do is to give the voiceless a voice. This art is not just for me to love, it is to talk about people and their lives. I invest every skill I learn in making better art for people to enjoy, and for things to improve. I have been very lucky by going to great schools, and therefore I work as much as I can to provide that opportunity to those who don’t have it, by using the skills I learn from these institutions.
Working as a filmmaker has been a great journey. I was lucky enough to work alongside amazing people from whom I learnt a lot. I have worked for FiSahara international film festival, Mundubat, Danish Refugee council, Oxfam, CISP, Nomads and more. You can find some of this work in this portfolio!
A part from this, I have produced and directed two documentaries. Atil documental, a piece about creativity, art and entrepreneurship in the Saharawi refugee camps. And Western Sahara, The Eternal Wait, a documentary on the case of the last colony in Africa. This film is about the non-finished decolonisation of the territory and its consequences on the people of Western Sahara.
REVIEWS
Daniel López Laboreiro
Documentary filmmaker and editor, and professor at IE University
"I still remember watching the first cut of Abidin's documentary "Western Sahara: The Eternal Wait" and realising he was no longer a student but a fellow documentary filmmaker. He has the talent and skills to become the frontrunner of a new breed of North African directors."
Brahim Chagaf
Film director
"It was said of him, the future of Saharawi cinema, today he is the most complete filmmaker, director, editor, camera operator, Abidin is pure talent... very professional and a good colleague. Arab, African, and especially Saharawi cinema are facing a young man who will give a lot to talk about..."
